Shroomium (NYNS)
A vibey, fungi strategy game with lots of mushrooms.
Expand your mycelium network, build connections to absorb energy and overcome the corruption.
Originally made in seven days as a contribution to the New Year, New Skills game jam.
Please note that the desktop versions (Windows/OS X) seem to work better than the web version. Do prefer them, if you can. Enjoy!
Current state
You can spawn Creep shrooms on your Mycelium tiles and shed spores that expand your network. The wind (represented by small white dots) sends those spores flying in it's direction, so keep that in mind and wait for the right direction to optimize your fungal conquest! You can also use Plant Extractors and Basic shrooms to collect Plant Matter from the Tree Branches that are scattered around the map, although it's of no use for now. By clicking the Alt key you can see which Mycelium centers and Shrooms have which resources, represented by their icons.
Corruption
A challenger approaching - corruption! It works kinda like your own fungi, with the same goal as you - to consume and cover all of the map. Be careful - just like you can send spores to Corruption and replace it with your Mycelium, Corruption can take over your tiles as well. Don't let it spread too much!
Concept
The concept (although, not quite realized by the submission time) is a factory-type game where you collect some resources, process others and use them to expand your fungal network. All Mycelium centers (represented by a Hub Mushroom in the middle with Mycelium tiles appearing around it) have their own supply storages, which are used by the shrooms close to them. They all communicate together, moving the resources within the network (connected Mycelium centers) and trying to reach an equilibrium.
3 main Mushroom types are:
- Creeps (SC2 reference) - the only type that is able to shed spores;
- Extractors - able to collect new resources from the "supply nodes" (just tree branches in the game jam build - those brown thingies that you can see while playing the game) scattered around the map;
- Refiners (system not implemented) - process available resources into new ones.

LOVE the art style, and the music fits so well. It was really relaxing, until the corruption reared it's head haha. Super cute game, great SFX and gameplay too! :)

A really cute game! I love how the mushrooms look and the little sounds they make when you plop them down. I was definitely panicking (but in a fun way) when the corruption started to grow faster and cover my shrooms!
